To be an effective Gospel Advancing leader, you have to walk the walk.
There’s no getting around the value of modeling. This is how Jesus taught His followers! When you and your adult leaders are personally passionate about praying for and sharing your faith in your own personal circles of influence, the likelihood that your students will do so, as well, increases dramatically. As leaders, you can’t expect to take your students where you haven’t gone yourselves. So modeling relational evangelism and talking about your faith-sharing efforts openly with your students are essential elements in discipling your teenagers to become disciples who make disciples.

3 Videos to Inspire and Equip Your Adult Leaders
So how do you go about “training” your adults if relational evangelism is a challenge for them? Here are three free, helpful videos you could use to inspire and equip your leaders:
- A 4 Minute Crash Course in Sharing Your Faith. In this short, powerful video, Greg Stier provides a clear, quick, relatable overview of how to share your faith.
- Gospelize Your Team video series – Episode 5 “Start in Your Circle.” Episode 5 of this free Dare 2 Share video series for youth leaders and adult volunteers unpacks the “Ask – Admire – Admit” strategy for initiating gospel conversations. Although it’s part of a larger series, this episode also stands alone as an excellent relational evangelism training video, specifically designed to help adults model effective faith-sharing in their own personal lives.
- The Cause Circle video. This animated video unpacks Jesus’ model of a “Prayer, Care, Share” approach to relational evangelism.
The Dare 2 Share Mobile App
The free Dare 2 Share mobile app features several additional faith-sharing training videos. The GOSPEL acrostic videos in the “What 2 Share” section of the app unpack the acrostic line by line. The app also includes several practical faith-sharing tools, e.g., images and videos in the “Share Now” section of the app. This app is appropriate for both adults and teens.
If you’re open to purchasing a step-by-step evangelism training curriculum, Dare 2 Share’s Full Circle curriculum could be easily adapted for use with adults and covers the basics of sharing your faith—from why, to what, to how. And if you’re looking for more in depth theological training about the actual message of the gospel itself and the GOSPEL acrostic, our video curriculum Life in 6 Words: The GOSPEL Explored, is an excellent choice and has a companion Adult Leader’s Guide that can be purchased separately.
Realistically, you just can’t build a thriving Gospel Advancing Ministry unless you and your leaders personally embrace and model a Gospel Advancing lifestyle. So get your leaders inspired and equipped to share the gospel in their own circles of influence. And give them opportunities in front of your students where they can share stories about their own personal evangelism efforts.
After all, Jesus set the pace when it comes to leading by example!
